Welcome to the VMFA-251 website. We are currently in a workup period in anticipation of the upcoming release of the DCS World F/A-18C "Hornet"  module. Once the F/A-18C module is released VMFA-251 will be exclusively an F/A-18 squadron but, until then we are currently using the DCS World AV-8B night attack module from RAZBAM as our sole airframe. This is definitely a work in progress but if you're interested in joining VMFA-251 we would love to hear from you.

  1. Introductions

@Plague Will do. I will shoot to hop on for a bit tomorrow.
  2. Introductions

@Plague I'm still in the process of building my new computer. I can hop on to teamspeak with my laptop, but can say that my laptop is woefully underpowered to run DCS. I expect that my computer will be done NLT 3 weeks from today. I would be willing to jump on to TS to learn about JTAC/FAC procedures in the meantime.
  3. Introductions

Hey y'all, My name is Matt, but I used to go by Landing back when I flew FSX a few years back. I was recommended to the squadron by Roman, whom I've known personally for a number of years now. I've always had a passion for aviation and have had experience with flight simulator for most of my youth. Unfortunately, I stopped flying a few years ago to focus on school as I began studying Mechanical Engineering (incidentally, my old computer became hopelessly obsolete around this time). As such, my skills have become quite rusty and I only have minimal experience with DCS, but I'm hoping to begin remedying that as soon as my new computer is completed (estimated time ~3 weeks). As college draws to a close for me next year, I am planning on attending Marine Corps Officer Candidate School with the hopes of becoming a Marine Aviator. All in all, I hope that I can become an asset to the squadron while also learning as much as I can about the Naval Flight syllabus and Marine Aviation as a whole. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to become part of the squadron and I look forward to flying with y'all. Matt
